In most places around the world. This is college prep time for up and coming highschoolers making that big transition from grade school to the major leagues so to speak.

But with that comes a lot of other things like where you’re going to go to school? Who you may be rooming with. Or What kind of computer will you bring?

I can’t really help you too much with that first option or not even the second. But that third one my friend is my cup of tea and is what we will be honing in on within this article today.

No, when buying a computer/laptop/desktop/tablet whatever the case may be. There are a few key things you want to take into consideration before making your final decision.

Like the following

  • Price – Is it reasonable and affordable for you right now? Don’t chase the trends or what’s popular. You’ll be hungry soon and eating a laptop doesn’t seem too tasty.
  • Size – Do you need a laptop or a desktop or a tablet? Know this and know where you’re going to use it the most.
  • Necessity – Is it absolutely necessary for you to invest in a laptop? You know you’re work ethic and you know if you’re a slacker or not. If you aren’t going to take the books serious first off. I would suggest using the library computer or maybe a friend’s if they let you.

Once you’ve gotten these three things squared away and finalized you should be ready to make your decision.

As many of my readers know I’ve written a post on Acer and we know what they are about. So it’s no surprise that this product is getting a lot of high praise in the world right now.

Acer states that this laptop was the biggest thing to happen to the Chromebook. It is the world’s first Chromebook with an impressive 15.6 inches full HD widescreen. I went to the store and checked this thing out in person and it does have a pretty nice looking screen for a laptop of its size.

Like it doesn’t end there

I apologize ahead of time for the big geeky computers words I’m about to use below.

  • It has a built-in Intel Celeron Dual-Core Processor 3205U
  • Google Chrome Operating System
  • 4GB DDR3L SDRAM Memory
  • 32GB SSD
  • Intel HD Graphics
  • High-Definition Audio Support

  • 4-Cell Lithium Ion Battery
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Upward facing dual speakers

and more.

With a 9-hour battery life and super fast loading speeds. You can get a lot of things done in a timely fashion. Making this an ideal first choice as a laptop for college.

You can store and access tons of photos, music, videos, documents etc. From anywhere with Google Drive.

All of your files will be automatically backed up safely and securely. On top of that, you can enjoy 100 GB of free storage on Google Drive for 2-years.

The Acer Chromebook 15 has a smooth feel to it. It’s like one of those feelings that just feels right. Once I had this item in my hands inside the store my friend owns. It felt really top nitch laptop computer worthy in my opinion.

It has a durable fabric like surface that provides a premium grip so there will be no slipping.

The screen isn’t too bright and doesn’t strain the eyes.

How Much Does The Acer Chromebook 15 Cost

They have two buying options available currently both with key differences which explains the price discrepancy.

The Standard Version Celeron 16GB SSDis $248.97 (New)

It is retailed at $299.99 For the 32GB

I’m not sure how long they will be selling at the discounted price of $273.98 (New)

If saving $26.01 interests you. I would highly suggest you head over and get yours before they sell out. Because this is a very hot product on Amazon and there’s no telling how many units they are doing a day.

Better it be safe than sorry in my opinion. Especially when it comes to college.

They also have accessories and a protection plan you can include with your order of this laptop.

No, I don’t think so and if you do somehow find out a way to its most likely going to be some kind of jailbroken, blackhat, scammy type of dealings going on. Chrome operates on a linex operation system opposed to a Mac OS or Windows and they aren’t interchangeable.

My Take On The Acer Chromebook 15

For a first laptop, it is a bit on the expensive side for me. But if you can afford it and get it comfortably go for it. It’s like the perfect first computer for a freshman in college. If this is a little pricey for you I suggest you check out this exclusive HP computer for a better price.

The price is my only issue everything else lines up just right for me with this computer.

Conclusion

That’s all I have for this one. I hoped you enjoyed the review feel free to ask questions and share with friends. Have a nice day and be safe.

Sharing is caring!

From my point of view as a tech i would recommend this small monster. The 4 GB Memory is even higher than most of our desktop computers, the Intel HD Display card is awesome giving us the clearest picture/video display you can imagine! 9 hr Battery life is fantastic.I would recommend Acer Chromebook 15 anytime since

Looks like a great laptop for travelling! especially for college students. I like how you can literally fit it or carry it wherever you go without it putting a strain on your body.

The small size would also allow it to conserve energy battery better and last longer which is a great thing! I might have to consider buying this for myself with such a great price point.

    Thankyou:)

Lol y’all making me feel like a cheapskate. That price makes my wallet have seizures.
But it is a nice computer for what Its worth. But just thinking of a freshman in college trying to afford this, food, books, parking, gas, etc. it can be a little hectic.

This looks like a very good laptop. I have experience with Acer, as I have an Acer Aspire that is around 8 years old without any problems. Acer builds quality products to last. Thank you for this info on the new Acer Chromebook. Although it would be a big change to go from a 17″ screen to a 15.6″ screen, I will keep it in mind. It might even be a good Christmas present for my wife.

Yes, it’s a nice computer and Acer delivers most of the time. If you already have a 17″ screen and it works fine for you keep it no need to get this one. Unless you want to. But buying it as a Christmas present for your wife doesn’t sound like too bad of an idea.

This laptop looks like a good starter laptop for a decently inexpensive price (considering how expensive some are). I currently own a macbook – but once it goes I will prob end up getting a pc, since they are easier to fix ect.

    • Tyler Post authorReply

I own a MacBook also both are very good computers. But a MacBook is a lot more pricey for good reasoning though. I don’t think it’s the ideal laptop for a freshman in college if they’re paying out of pocket.

I am currently using Acer ultrabook. I’ve had it for about 8 years. I love it. It is still working great. My husband’s computer just crashed a few weeks ago. We are planning to buy a new computer. I will share this information with him. This Acer computer looks great. I like that its silver, which is my favorite color. Thank you for the information.

Sorry to hear about the computer crash that never fun. But it sounds like you’re in luck with this one. Go for it!
